Market Kitchen Quiz - Team Needed!

Hi everyone,

I have some exciting news for you; the UK Food Bloggers Association has been invited to participate in a quiz to promote the new series of Market Kitchen in September.

The quiz will be held on the 19th August at Borough Market and we'll compete against the great and the good in the publishing world - with a great prize for the winners!

We need to get a team together with 5 players so if you're interested, a member of the UKFBA and available on that day please drop me a line at ukfoodbloggersassociation AT yahoo DOT co DOT uk. I expect we'll have a high volume of interest so I think the fairest way to get the team together is to put all names in a hat and draw them out. I'm hoping to be coming along myself, if I'm able to get the time off work, so that means we need another 4 members (with a few in reserve).

I have no other information at the moment but will let you know as soon as I do.

Know any students who are off to uni this autumn?

This Post was written by Fiona Beckett from The Frugal Cook

If so perhaps you could pass on a link to my student cooking site Beyond Baked Beans and new Beyond Baked Beans student cooking page on Facebook where students can upload pix and videos of their own culinary masterpieces!

In fact if any of you have a favourite recipe - or tip - from your student days do post it on the page or send it to me to upload on the site. (Obviously with a link to your blog)

You don't have to be a student to be a fan ;-)

Many thanks,

Fiona

No Croutons Required - July

This Post was written by Holler from Tinned Tomatoes

No Croutons Required is a monthly, vegetarian soup and salad challenge, hosted by myself and Lisa from Lisa's Kitchen.

For this month's challenge, I would like you to think up a soup or salad showcasing your favourite herb or one you haven't experimented with yet.

The herb garden is now officially open!

The Rules

1. Post about your vegetarian, herb soup or salad.

2. Mention "No Croutons Required" in your post and link back to Tinned Tomatoes. You are free to use the "No Croutons Required" logo in your post.

3. Email me a link to your post at nocroutonsrequired@googlemail.com and include your name, the name of your blog, your location and the name of your dish, with any anecdotes.

4. Entries must be in by 20 July 2008.

The roundup of entries will then be posted and readers will be able to vote for their favorite soup or salad in the poll.

The winning soup or salad will be announced at the end of the month and the winner will receive this badge to display on their blog.

5. Good luck :)

Facebook Blog Networks

This post was written by Alex from Eating Leeds.

A Blog Networks application has just been added to Facebook. You can create a network for your own blog (join mine!), or just become a fan of blogs you like. As with a lot of Facebook apps, it suggests similar blogs, so you might even find a new site!
